Default Can't log in, "Reset Password" is down?

So, I noticed I can't log in anymore for some wierd reason.
When I then tried to reset the password it says that "the service is currently not available, please see forums/support".
Anyone know what's going on? I'd like to be able to log in..
Help would be very appreciated.

I had the same exact problem right after I pre-purchased my Guild Wars 2 account. For some reason I was no longer able to log in to Guild Wars 1 and, as you said, the password reset was not working. So I contacted [email protected] and they're currently trying to resolve the issue.

So that's my advice to you, contact support. Especially now since this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident anymore.

Take note though that Support will freeze your account until you can prove that you're the one who owns it. So, have your game keys or the credit card(s) you used to purchase items from the store handy.

I had the exact same problem some time ago and contacted support. They answered me with this: https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6497

Hmm I see, thank you.
This was the first time I tried to log in after my GW2 prepurchase, so I, too, believed that was what was causing it.
I just wanted to log in "for fun", as I already have 30 HoM which I'm satisfied with and I've been logged in this year (for name reservations), so I don't really "need" to log in, but I'd want to..
Now I wonder though if my names and my HoM will be successfully transfered (to GW2), as I'm having these issues? And would it be "worth" contacting support, as I don't really "need" to be able to log in (more than just for fun of course). When GW2 launches I'll focus my time on that rather than GW1, but I'd like my HoM and my names to be with me:/

Edit: Also, my GW1 login name/mail adress is the same as my GW2 one.

I'm having the same problem. My gw1 and gw2 share the same name/address. I wanted to log into gw1 but I can't and the reset password doesn't work. I sent in a support ticket but honestly don't expect any help since ncsoft has terrible support and always has. I just wanted to make sure my stuff transferred over

I am not 100% sure about this but i think i have read somewhere that your password for gw1 and beta gw2 client are the same atm... if you used a different password for gw2 then the password for gw1 has changed too?

And there is no stuff going to carried over from gw1 to gw2... only your number of hom achievements (but no items, armor or what-so-ever).

And why do people think that reseting their password is going to solve their login problems? If your password worked yesterday but not today then its most likely not your password that is causing the problem... but something else.

Yeah I've tried to log in with my old password, new password, even changed my "security character name" to the one I use in GW2 (while trying the new GW2 passw.), nothing works:/

Yeah I just hope my HoM-points (and my character names) will carry over without any problems..

It was my natural reaction when none of my passwords worked (old gw1, new gw2), and then it said that the Reset Password service was disabled - which I found very odd.
I hope nothing got messed up with my transistion (gw1->gw2) :/

Also, if anyone gets a respond from the support, could you please come back and share it, it would be much appreciated!

Wonder how many other have this problem?

I had a problem where I entered my GW1 password to be my GW2 password, but apparently we aren't allowed the same length we were once allowed. So all of a sudden I couldn't log in, it was because the last few characters of my password didn't get entered.

For me to log-in to GW1 or GW2, I had to change my password to something shorter.

This is correct and something that we've announced here:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:...m_Thoughts_box

We also announced in the past on the Guild Wars Support Forums that changing your username is currently disabled in Guild Wars and will be re-enabled in the future.

Thanks for all the responses!
I now changed my GW2 password to something much shorter, and I'm now able to log in to both to GW2 (account page), aswell as to my old GW1 account!

I did try just typing the first few letters of my new password (to match the number of letters of my old password) but it didn't work for me.

What worked was changing my whole GW2 password to something a lot shorter, and I could log in both to GW2 aswell as to my GW1 account

Good to see that you solved your login problem... this was the reason (taken from Stéphane Lo Presti's link):
Quote:
An Important Note About Linking Your Guild Wars Account
Your existing Guild Wars password is currently no longer than 15 characters, even if it appears that you can enter more characters in the password field. When linking your existing Guild Wars account to your new Guild Wars 2 account, be sure to type only the first 15 characters of your Guild Wars password. If after pre-purchasing Guild Wars 2 you decide to create a Guild Wars account and then link the two accounts, your Guild Wars password must be 15 characters or less.

Default ressurection of 'incorrect password'

I cannot log into my GW game account, "incorrect password".
it worked two weeks ago.
The "Reset Password" link is out of service and has been for the past week.

How do I reset my password?

A little help would be nice.

I've sent emails to 'support@' 'help@', 'admin@' and 'root@' guildwars.com,
and haven't received anything in response.

help?

[email protected] is down and has been for several months now. Any emails sent to that address (including any systems that are dependent on it, like the in-game report system) will not achieve anything. GW1 support is done via this link: https://guildwars.zendesk.com/home

I've been playing GW2 now for about a year and a half and had only just realized there was a way for me to play GW1 on my laptop (I'm a Mac convert). I had this same issue in that I couldn't log in to GW1 - and my GW1 accounts are still [email protected]' so I can imagine why, lol - so I submitted a report to the Zen Desk link that Marty provided tonight. I still have my serial numbers and account names on hand, so hopefully it'll all be resolved!

I owed all of the Eps, but I didn't get into GW1 nearly as much as I have into GW2. I am missing certain aspects of it, though, namely the fact that I joined GW1 in the winter of2009, after EotW had already been released, and so I had alllll of this content to toy with and profession types too. I'm just hoping I can find an active little GW1 niche so I can explore all of the content and enjoy it.

There's a special place in hell reserved for people like you.

Anyway if you have serial codes + send email to zen desk you can have your account back in a matter of weeks

hacked or banned for this ^ unless u deleted a character name like the one you use to log in with - another thing could have been if u recreate pvp characters from 1 slot like i do then the name auto changes to newest created character

I'll take a Mac any day. <3

Also: I got my account all sorted out in less than 24 hours after my post here. And it was a weekend! Talk about efficient.
